Board

Benoît Morand

Benoît (re)founded the brand MORAND after 3 years of development, alongside Eric Boullier.

He started his career as a mechanic but quickly focused on motorsport and became a racing driver. On the strength of the experience gained, Benoît created his own racing team in 2000 and competed in various championships as a team manager before committing to Le Mans LMP1 and LMP2 championships. The team created the first hybrid car able to compete and celebrated a vice world champion position (WEC) in 2016.

With his commitment to motorsport and his family heritage, Benoît Morand brings a strong management and entrepreneurship expertise to the MORAND brand.

Eric Boullier

As a French motor racing engineer and manager and his recent appointment as managing director of the French Grand Prix organization, Eric is an international reference. 21 years of experience in motorsports and especially 9 years as a head of renowned Formula 1 teams established him as a business leader in this industry: from the lead of the Lotus F1 team back to victory to the racing direction of the McLaren F1 team. Eric played an undeniable role in the development of each organization he worked with.

Eric’s vast management experience and proven track record of leadership will play an invaluable part for MORAND Hypercar in setting up the structure and achieving its ambitious targets.

Michel Volet

Michel Volet is an independent entrepreneur, founder of the recruitment agency « New Work SA », founder of the cryotherapic institute « Hibernatus ». He has been President of the hockey club « Fribourg-Gottéron » from 2011 to 2019.

Team

Soojin Hong

Soojin Hong was born in South Korea. She was a Senior Exterior Designer at EDAG, the world’s largest independent engineering service provider for fully integrated solutions in the automotive industry.
Soojin also worked for Audi and Mercedes-Benz AMG as a designer. Her unique talent will bring a new approach and revolutionary design to MORAND Hypercar project.

Ricardo Penteado

Ricardo Penteado joined the Renault racing team in 2007 as a race engineer. Ricardo will evolve on the track until he becomes Engine Support Leader for Renault Sport, working with Toro Rosso, Red Bull, Renault and McLaren. His passion for technical challenges but also for human adventures, naturally led him to the MORAND Hypercar project, where Ricardo saw the opportunity to apply all his experience gained from 227 GPs and almost 20 years in F1.
